Laura King is a writer, gardener and avid reader, living in Lithgow, NSW.

She works as a freelance journalist and has written for several publications (under her maiden name Laura Boness), including Great Walks, the Careers With Stem series, Postgrad Futures, Know How magazine, Cosmos and Science Illustrated.

After studying Environmental Science as an undergraduate, Laura worked in this field before returning to university to undertake a Graduate Diploma in Journalism; she is now completing a Certificate in Horticulture.

She has spent several years growing plants in pots (with varying degrees of success) while renting, while dreaming of creating a garden with no-dig beds, fruit trees and beehives.

When not working, studying, hiking or gardening, she can be found reading gardening books, gardening magazines, cookbooks, seed catalogues, travel books, beekeeping books…
